Current snow conditions
Snow conditions in the Chamonix valley have been fantastic on and off piste this past week. With the recent warmer temperatures, south facing slopes have become a little slushy but are still nice and crisp first thing in the morning. There’s a nice base of 200cm at the top of Grands Montets with soft quality snow on most slopes. No deep powder off-piste but nice soft corn snow can be found if you know where to look.
Current lift status
All of the ski areas are open. Aiguille du Midi is open and the arete is equipped for the Vallee Blanche.
The forecast is set to deliver a fresh 10-15cm through Friday which will be a nice top up for this weekend’s sunny forecast. Then, early next week from Monday night and through all of Tuesday we’re expecting heavy snowfall with over 60cm predicted. Let the powder times roll!
Why you should hire a local guide
Off-piste skiing in Chamonix is world famous, so why not hire an experienced private ski guide. All of our ski guides speak English and know the area well. Do you want to find hidden powder fields, learn new skills and have fun along the way? Get in touch and we’ll advise how you can receive a 5% discount.
