Big Mountain House is a spectacular four bedroom, three bathroom demi chalet sleeping up to eight guests. Located in a peaceful residential area in the village of Chamonix Les Praz and close to great transport links. The stylish and open plan living area, with its exposed wooden beams and log burning stove, provides a homely and relaxing space to enjoy the alpine evenings. The modern and well-equipped kitchen leads onto a decked balcony and terrace with impressive views of the Mont Blanc range.
Situated in a peaceful residential area in the village Chamonix Les Praz, Big Mountain House is under a 10 minute walk from the centre of the village and the new Flégère gondola, or just a 2 minute drive. The Flégère gondola offers easy access to the Chamonix Valley’s largest ski area Brévent/Flégère, and in summer is the start point for the famous Lac Blanc hike. The picturesque village offers an épicerie and a handful of popular restaurants and bars and is also home to the Chamonix golf course and cross country ski track . A bus stop and station are both just a few minutes walk from the chalet giving easy access to Chamonix town centre and the other ski areas in the valley. Chamonix centre can be reached in just a 5 minute drive.
Situated over three floors, the open plan living area and kitchen are on the top floor to make the most of the spectacular views through the large windows. There are comfy sofas, a large dining table, TV and log burning stove. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, oven, stove, microwave, toaster, dishwasher and filter coffee machine. The living space leads out onto a good sized terrace with dining table and chairs, as well as stairs down to the sunny garden. On the ground floor are three bedrooms, two with double beds and another with a set of bunk beds, two of the bedrooms have direct access out to the garden. There is one bathroom and one shower room, both with a basin and WC. On the lower floor the spacious master ensuite bedroom boasts a Swedish sauna with double sink and shower. A well-equipped laundry room also provides ample room for washing, drying and storage. There is a closed garage with room for ski/bike storage, as well as outside parking.
Self-catered bookings include linen/towels for 8 guests, end of stay cleaning and local taxe de séjour (tourist tax). This allows you to benefit from the Carte d’Hotes giving you free travel on the trains and reductions on entry to the museums and other attractions. Standard check-in is between 4-8pm and check-out is by 10am. Early or late check-in and check-out may be available and can be booked through your guest area.
