"/>Chalet L’Ecritoire is a spacious chalet located 100 metres from the piste in Les Houches. Sleeping 10, it boasts five large bedrooms, three shower rooms and one bathroom. The comfortable and convivial living and dining area give an excellent social space with an additional games room in the basement. In summer, the large and enclosed garden is easy to fully enjoy with a BBQ and outside dining furniture. A large balcony, excellent for enjoying a mountain sunset completes this fantastic chalet.
The Location
Chalet L’Ecritoire is located 100 metres from the ski piste in the peaceful Chavants area of Les Houches. In the winter, a short walk takes you to the piste, where you can ski down to join the Prarion lift or the Bellevue lift on blue runs.
The chalet is located close to the head of many of the famous walking trails such as the Tour de Mont Blanc the Chalet des Charousse, where you can enjoy some stunning summer hiking or winter snow shoeing. Within a 5 minute drive of the apartment is a bakery as well as the Lac des Chavants leisure area. Families will be entertained here year round with sledging and cross country skiing in winter, and in summer a children’s playground, tennis courts and BBQ areas. You can also walk down to the Chavants lake in about 20 minutes down picturesque back streets and walking paths. A short drive from the chalet, the Grange d’en Haut offers a Spa and restaurant.
The Details
The roomy living space offers comfortable leather sofas, a log burning stove and a TV with English and French channels. The large dining table seats up to ten people and the adjoining kitchen is well stocked and offers a walk-in pantry. The living/dining area opens onto a terrace and enclosed garden where you will find outside dining furniture and a BBQ. A wood burning stove completes the cosy chalet style feel of this comfortable property. The games room in the basement has a pool table, a baby-foot and a chess board. On the ground floor, there is one spacious double bedroom with a walk-in closet and an ensuite shower room with WC. On the upper floor there is a second double room and a twin room with balcony, both with walk-in closets and en-suite shower rooms. The children’s bunk room doubles up as an office area and leads onto the wrap around balcony. The impressive master room opens onto a balcony area with outside seating and stunning views of the mountain range. It also has a large en-suite bathroom and a walk-in closet. There is outside private parking for up to 4 cars, and plenty of room to store bikes and skis.
What’s Included
Self-catered bookings include linen/towels for each bed (there is a 25 euro per stay supplement for a sofa bed pack if your property has a sofa bed you wish to use), end of stay cleaning and local taxe de séjour (tourist tax). This allows you to benefit from the Carte d’Hotes giving you free travel on the trains and reductions on entry to the museums and other attractions. Standard check-in is between 4-8pm and check-out is by 10am. Early or late check-in and check-out might be available and can be booked through your guest area.
Payment terms and CancellationÂ
To confirm the booking, you must pay 30% of the total cost. Along with the accommodation fee, you will be charged a local tourist tax of 4.6 euros per adult per night and a non-refundable booking fee of 5%. The remaining balance will be automatically charged to the provided card 30 days before your arrival. You will receive an email notification prior to the balance being charged.
If you cancel your booking via email up to 30 days before arrival, you will receive a full refund, excluding the 5% booking fee. However, within 30 days of arrival, the booking becomes non-refundable.
