Chalet Pele is a traditional five bedroom, five bathroom chalet sleeping up to 11 guests in the centre of Chamonix. A renovated farmhouse dating back to the 1700’s and nestled amongst some of the oldest buildings in Chamonix, it is full of character and charm. The fantastic dining room makes an atmospheric setting to enjoy a meal and the original farmhouse cave has been transformed into a cosy lounge ‘snug’. Upstairs, there is even a Swedish sauna to relax in after a day in the mountains.
Chalet Pele, located in the centre of Chamonix is perfect for stays both in summer and winter. It is just a two minute walk to the main bus stop which has links to all the villages of the Chamonix Valley and gives easy access to a number of different ski areas. This makes Chalet Pele a great base for exploring the Chamonix Valley without the need for a car. The famous Aiguille du Midi lift, which takes you up to 3842m and gives spectacular views of Mont Blanc, is also just a few minutes walk from the chalet. In under a five minute walk, Chamonix’s pedestrianised high street, with its excellent restaurants, bars, cafés and shops can also be reached. Set on a historic residential street, Chalet Pele is excellently located for groups who want to explore everything Chamonix has to offer with ease.
Chalet Pele is set over two floors. On the ground floor there is a modern kitchen with fridge/freezer, oven, stove, microwave and dishwasher. There is a separate dining room with large table seating 10, a log burning stove and a sofa. There is also a cosy lounge ‘snug’ with seating for 8 and UK TV. A utility room houses a washing machine, dryer and space to store skis and kit. On this floor there is also a twin room with ensuite bathroom with a shower over bath, basin and WC. On the first floor there are four more twin bedrooms each with an ensuite bathroom with shower over a bath, basin and WC. One bedroom also has a mezzanine in the eaves with one single bed which can be made up on request. Additionally, there is a sauna with a shower. Externally there are two dedicated parking spaces outside the chalet.
Self-catered bookings include linen/towels for 11 guests, end of stay cleaning and local taxe de séjour (tourist tax). This allows you to benefit from the Carte d’Hotes giving you free travel on the trains and reductions on entry to the museums and other attractions. Standard check-in is after 4pm and check-out is by 10am. Early or late check-in and check-out may be available and can be booked through your guest area.
