Maison Jaune, situated on the edge of the piste in the Les Houches ski area, is a spacious five-bedroom, five bathroom stand-alone chalet sleeping 10 guests. Two traditional Alpine mazots in the garden can also be booked to sleep a total of 14. It is one of the few true ski-in ski-out chalets in the Chamonix Valley and also perfectly located for peaceful summer retreats. The views of the Mont Blanc Massif from the airy living room, bedrooms and sunny terrace are arguably the best in the valley.
The Maison Jaune is located on the edge of the Ailloud home run, a short ski from the Bellevue and Prarion lift, giving direct access to the Les Houches ski area, or bus links to the other ski areas of the Chamonix Valley. The chalet is located close to the head of many of the famous walking trails such as the Chalet des Charousse and the Tour du Mont Blanc, where you can enjoy some stunning summer hiking or winter snow shoeing. A 5-minute drive takes you down to the Chavants lake, where you will find a lake side café/ restaurant, a bakery, a bolted climbing wall, tennis courts, a children’s playground and a beautiful wooded area for gentle walks. You can also walk down to the Chavants lake in about 20 minutes down picturesque back streets and walking paths. In the winter, the Chavant lake area offers cross country skiing, a children’s ski area and a sledging area. A short drive from the chalet, the Grange d’en Haute offers a Spa and a restaurant.
Maison Jaune is a real landmark in the Les Houches ski area and has a long history of providing unforgettable ski holidays and summer retreats. Its domineering position perched on the edge of the piste provides the most impressive of views. It is located in a rural environment and set in a beautiful garden, providing ample space to roam amongst the trees, greenery and streams, to enjoy this peaceful setting so close to the action the valley provides. The spacious chalet is set over four floors. On the ground floor you will find a fully equipped separate kitchen with professional double ovens and a large hatch that opens onto the bright dining/living room. This room has huge windows and double doors that open onto the terrace allowing for breath-taking views from the sofa. The dining table seats 10 guests and the living area has large comfortable sofas. The terrace offers tranquil setting for outside dining, and from the terrace you can access the outside hot tub and BBQ area. On the first floor of the chalet there are three bedrooms, each of which can be made up as doubles or twins. Two rooms have en-suite shower rooms with shower, basin and WC, the third has its own shower room across the corridor also with shower, basin and WC. On the top floor of the chalet there are two bedrooms, one twin with en-suite shower room and one which can be made up as double or a twin with en-suite bathroom. All bedrooms have access onto balconies with spectacular views. On the lower ground floor there is a winter entrance to the boot room, ski/kit storage area and sauna. The two Mazots are small individual mini chalets with a double bed, separate kitchen area and shower room. They are accessed from little paths that feed down from the parking area, and from the Mazots you can walk directly onto the piste. There is plenty of parking in the parking area, and storage for skis and bikes.
Self-catered bookings include linen/towels for 10 guests, end of stay cleaning and local taxe de séjour (tourist tax). This allows you to benefit from the Carte d’Hotes giving you free travel on the trains and reductions on entry to the museums and other attractions. Standard check-in is after 4pm and check-out is by 10am. Early or late check-in and check-out might be available and can be booked through your guest area. Direct bookings are refundable up to 30 days before arrival.
