The Maison Jaune Mazots are located right on the edge of the blue piste in the Les Houches ski area, making them truly Ski in Ski Out destinations. They sit in the picturesque gardens of the Maison Jaune chalet. These unique and charismatic properties each sleep up to 2 guests and provide a magical base for your stay in the Chamonix Valley. They have all you need for your stay, from a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, a comfy bed and TV. Step out of the front door, click into your skis, and you're off! They are both private enough to be rented as individual chalets, or can be rented along with the maison house and second Mazot to make up a total of 14 beds.
The Maison Jaune is located on the edge of the Ailloud home run, a short ski from the Bellevue and Prarion lift, giving direct access to the Les Houches ski area, or bus links to the other ski areas of the Chamonix Valley. The chalet is located close to the head of many of the famous walking trails such as the Chalet des Charousse and the Tour du Mont Blanc, where you can enjoy some stunning summer hiking or winter snow shoeing. A 5-minute drive takes you down to the Chavants lake, where you will find a lake side café/ restaurant, a bakery, a bolted climbing wall, tennis courts, a children’s playground and a beautiful wooded area for gentle walks. You can also walk down to the Chavants lake in about 20 minutes down picturesque back streets and walking paths. In the winter, the Chavant lake area offers cross country skiing, a children’s ski area and a sledging area. A short drive from the chalet, the Grange d’en Haute offers a Spa and a restaurant.
Mazot Voza is accessed from a garden path leading down from the car park of the main house. There is a sunny terrace to the front of the Mazot, with breath-taking views of the Mont Blanc range, the perfect place to watch the alpine glow as the sun sets and or enjoy al-fresco dining in the summer. Inside the cosy Mazot is a double bed, a sofa and a small table with two chairs. There is a kitchenette with a gaz hob and oven, and a fridge and whilst small and compact, all the necessary equipment is provided for cooking. The shower room has a toilet, a shower and a sink. The captivating views from the windows of the Mazot constantly reminded of your impressive location amongst the Mont Blanc range. Mazot Voza remains the more authentic of the two Mazots, and is certainly not for the faint hearted! It is heated with an efficient electric heater, but the insulation on the Mazot is basic so you need to be happy to keep your jumpers on in the winter! The water is heated ‘on demand’, you need to light the small gaz heater yourself and turn it off after you have used the hot water. The oven and hob are functional but rustic. It is a true experience to spend time in Mazot Voza, perfect for mountain lovers looking to immerse themselves in the nature of the valley, but its rural setting requires an adventurous mindset!
